 Il y a le quotidien
et... Les dessous de table. L’envers du décor sujet à
fantasme. Des pieds croisés qui se frôlent, qui se mêlent...
Des mains qui se touchent... Une intimité cloisonnée, préservée
de la curiosité sociale. Il y a la table, ce totem du partage,
du rendez-vous, du lien. Ce ciment familial, amical et professionnel,
propice au folklore des relations humaines. Mais qui a-t-il sous la nappe,
sous ce voile du politiquement correct et des échanges policés
? Un enfant qui regarde. Caché dans cette boîte de Pandore
à quatre pattes, il s’est réfugié dans ce qui
constitue, au fil des années, son terrain de jeu préféré.
Un enfant qui joue et observe le monde qui tourne autour de sa table.
Un enfant protégé par son imagination, diverti par la réalité,
trahi par son innocence.

NAJEAN a réussi grâce à sa série « Dessous
de Table » à allier authenticité et fantaisie. Tiraillé
entre son amour d’un art au-delà de la conscience et la rigueur
de l’écriture journalistique, il propose une exposition en
deux temps, en deux photos. Il y a la photo volée à la terrasse
d’un café, prise au hasard des rencontres et des humeurs.
Des centaines de photographies de jambes, de pieds, de pattes, de chaises
et de tables forment ainsi la base de son travail. Ces photos sont présentées
sans retouches et dans un format standard comme une réalité
brute et asservie. Celles-ci nourrissent la créativité du
photographe pour donner une photo plus grande, travaillée en studio
avec des modèles.
Une opportunité
pour Pascal NAJEAN de revenir à ce qu’il aime : un univers
hétéroclite peuplé de sirène, de monstre et
de créatures félines qui sous une apparente diversité
se retrouvent toutes mises à nus. Capturés, les sujets du
photographe se révèlent et laissent apparaître leur
faiblesse et leur peur. Les deux tirages sont inséparables comme
l’association du conscient et de l’inconscient, quinze paires
de photographies réunies par la fantaisie artistique.

The fantasy that lies behind the scenes. Crossed feet brushing against
each other, mingling. Hands touching. Cloistered intimacy sheltered from
socialcuriosity. The there is the table, an emblem of sharing, meeting,
binding. This familial, friendly, professional bond favourable to the
folklore of human relationships. But what is under the teble cloth, under
the veil of political correctness and civiled exchanges ? A child watching.
hidden, crawling in this pandora’s box, he found refuge in what
became his favourite playground through the years. A child playing and
observing the world relove around his table. A child protected by his
imagination, entertained by reality, betrayed by his innoncence.

Through his serie of photographs called Under the table, he managed to
combine authenticity and fancy. Torn between hiçs love for art
above consciousness and the precision of jounalistic writing, he created
an exhibit in two parts, two photos. There is the photo stolen from the
terrasse of a café, taken by chance according to meeting and moods.
Hundreds of photographs of legs, feet, tables and chairs form a bases
of his work. These photos are not retouched and presented in a standard
format like a raw and mastered reality. They feed the photographer’s
creativity to create a larger photo taken in the studio with models.
It’s an opportunity
for Pascal Najean to come back to what he loves : a heterogeneous world
where a siren, a monster and feline creatures live. Under an apparent
diversity, they all end up exposed. Once captured, the photographer’s
subjects reveal themselves to let their weaknesses ans fears out. Both
prints are inseparable like the conscious and the unconscious united.
